Contrary to the 2 Nor’Easters we’ve just experienced, pre-Spring is here. What comes with pre-Spring you ask? Transitional clothes. Transitional clothes for me are the things that aren’t warm enough to wear during the cold Winter months but are just warm enough to start to unload during the incoming warmer days.

Let me tell you a denim story. I once bought a pair of jeans that were one size too small. I think we can all identify with this, the act of buying something that symbolize us getting to a weight that’s good for us. These jeans sat in my wadrobe for some time until I could get to where I wanted to be. The patchwork pants you see in this shoot are them. Wearing these is a personal journey for me that I’m sharing. I’m sharing because I want everyone to know body image and issues with self doubt everywhere, but coming out on the other side of it is just as great and even fashionable…

For this look, I wanted to show off not only these sweet J.Crew Herringbone pants but how to layer without it being over done. I matched the pants and blazer with the rugby shirt to losen the look up a bit.

This red jacket is a marching band jacket I got while thrifting. I’ve been dying to wear it for any reason and in this shoot/season, I just thought I might. Along with this jacket comes my life for ripped jeans. I feel like a Cali boy was birthed in my cold NY heart when I visited because stylistically I’m a fan of the aesthetic.
